Gilbert Gean
Was born in Savannah, Tennessee on February 22, 1920 the son of the late Jim William and Josie Hollins Gean.
Mr. Gean was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. On December 16, 1945 he was united in marriage to the former Ruby Goff, who survives.
Mr. Gean worked in the cutting department at Brown Shoe Company and was a member and former elder of the Savannah Church of Christ. He was also a member of the VFW.
He departed this life on February 23, 2007 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 87 years and one day.
Mr. Gean is survived by his wife, Ruby Gean of Savannah, Tennessee;
two daughters: Vicky Bromley and Myra Blount, both of Savnanah;
one son, Farrell Gean of Simi Valley, California;
two grandchildren: Ondrea Mitchell and Jarrod Bromley;
three great-grandchildren: Cade Mitchell, Macy Bromley and Millie Bromley;
and four sisters: Lucille Cromwell of Savannah, Tennessee,
Lena Mae Austin of Memphis, Tennessee, Marie Irvin of Savannah, Tennessee
and Margaret Paulk of Corinth, Mississippi.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Nora Cromwell,
Carrie Cromwell and Mathaline Carr and two brothers: Edward Gean and Owen Gean.
