Gilbert Conaway

GILBERT (GIB) CONAWAYwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on February 11, 1917 the son of the late Charlie Edmon and Ethel Vickery Conaway.On March 19, 1983 he was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Cossey, who survives.Mr. Conaway was a retired minister, farmer and timber worker. He served as Pastor for Olivet Pentecostal Church and Milledgeville Pentecostal Church. He lived most of his life at Morris Chapel, Tennessee. He departed this life on June 29, 2008 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 18 days.Other than his wife, Evelyn of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by 2 sons, Keith Conaway and Harrell Conaway, both of Adamsville, Tennessee.one step-daughter, Shirley Benson of Savannah, Tennessee4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildrenOther than his parents, Mr. Conaway was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Laurene Conaway, one son, Larry Conaway, one grandson, Joey Conaway, one great-grandson, Kevin Conaway, 2 sisters, Keneth Marie Kubitz and Ivey Conaway and one brother, Raymond Conaway.
