Geraldine Elizabeth Hadley, 88, of Bolivar, died Thursday morning, April 19, 2007 at Wesley Nursing Care in Dyersburg.
The widow of Jewell Gwyn Hadley, who died May 5, 1968, she was a psychiatric specialist at Western Mental Health Institute and farmed with her husband. Mrs. Hadley was born May 13, 1918, in Hardeman County, daughter of the late John James Smith and Alice V. Farris Smith and lived here all of her life. She was a gardener and reader and enjoyed going to yard sales. Mrs. Hadley was a member of Parran’s Chapel Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Gwendolyn Gass of Lake Station, IN, Judy Sandlin of Bartlett, Margie Castleberry of Memphis and Regina Gibson of Dyersburg; two sons, Kenneth Hadley of Bolivar and Gerald Hadley of Valparaiso, IN; one sister, Lilly Mae Hilliard of Whiteville; two brothers, Farris Smith of Hobart, IN and Otha Smith of Whiteville; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Margie Jackson and two brothers, Harmon and James Smith.
