Gerald Stanfill

Mr. Gerald Franklin Stanfill departed this life on October 21, 2016 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 26 Days.
He was born September 25, 1926 in Chester County, TN the son of the late Roy Taylor and Janice Summers Stanfill. He attended school in the Middlefork Community and then served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his military service he returned to Chester county to farm. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Priddy on November 23, 1946 and they lived all their married lives around the Mifflin Community. Mrs. Stanfill preceded him in death in 1999. Mr. Stanfill was employed for many years as a driver for the Chester County Senior Citizens, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Henderson.
He is survived by a daughter, Judy Stanfill of Mifflin, TN; daughter in law Myrna Stanfill of Luray, brother, Joe Ramon Stanfill of Luray, TN; two sisters, Peggy Stanfill of Henderson, TN, Sarah Estelle Berkel of Osceola, IN; two grandchildren, Amy Howell, Amber Lay and husband Steven and Three great-grandchildren Makinsey Howell, Cooper and Christian Lay.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Stanfill was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Stanfill and Chris Stanfill.
Services will be held on October 23, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors-Johnson Chapel in Henderson, Tennessee, with Pastor Sammy McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery at Mifflin.
