Gerald W. Dodd, 57, of Bolivar, died Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The husband of Linda Vales Dodd, who survives, he was a psychiatric technician at Western Mental Health Institute. Mr. Dodd was born August 25, 1948 in the Deanburg Community, the son of Lloyd Rester Dodd and Tommie Ladell Hubanks Dodd of Deanburg and was raised in Chester County. A resident of Hardeman County for more than 20 years, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church near Deanburg. Mr. Dodd collected NASCAR and John Deere memorabilia as well as pocket watches and knives.
Services were 11 AM Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Bethel Baptist Church with Ron Davis officiating. Burial was in Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar were in charge of arrangements.
In addition to his wife, whom he married December 10, 1982, and his parents, he is survived by one son, Shawn Dodd; one brother, Danny Dodd and his wife, Beverly and one niece, Kara Dodd, all of Jackson.
