Jackson, TN: Gerald Glenn Cox age 67, passed away March 2, 2022 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1954 in Leesburg, FL, the son of Ruth Yvonne Simon Cox and the late Willard McNeil Cox.
He spent many years in northern Wisconsin as he shared his faith with Christians and the community. He then moved to Searcy, Arkansas, where he was a librarian at Harding University. Gerald was a man full of God's Spirit who always had his eyes open to His will. He also had an eye for the beauty of creation and loved gardening - especially flowers. He was gifted in creative arts and especially loved music. Gerald brought value to lives all around him and was known for his kind and gentle ways. His favorite interest was spending time with family and he delighted in being with his grandchildren.
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Marceen ‘Marcy’ Lee Snyder Cox of Jackson; three sons, Jesse Dean Cox (Elaine) of Jackson, Samuel Ryan Cox (Charla) of Fayetteville, AR and Andrew William Cox (Granato) of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren, Raleigh, Lydia, Moses, Milo, Grace, Caleb and Shepherd Cox; four siblings, Ronald Cox (Beth) of Sylva, NC, Donald Cox (Elba) of Spain, Sharon Smith (Webster) of Newark, AR and Curtis Cox (Jeanie) of Big Cabin, OK.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 5th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Jim Engel, Randy Cox, Hal Wilson and Shawn Daggett officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time on Saturday.
