Georgie Clyde Martin

Georgie Clyde Martin, age 83, of Cypress Inn, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born on September 24, 1941, in Lutts, TN, he was the beloved son of the late Edgar Lonzo and Opal Powell Martin.

Georgie embraced the simple pleasures of life, finding joy in watching his favorite television shows like Gunsmoke, enjoying leisurely moments picking up sticks with his wagon, playing the harmonica, or contently sitting in his rocking chair on the porch watching the cars go by. He cherished his time spent making silly videos with his great niece Jennifer's daughters and relished the small delights of life such as a cold Sundrop paired with a chocolate Moon pie.

Georgie Clyde Martin will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. 

He is lovingly remembered by his great niece Jennifer Marks (Eric) of Cypress Inn, along with her children, Krista Looney (Tucker) of Florence, AL, Kara Marks, and Kailey Marks of Cypress Inn. Georgie's memory will also be honored by his sisters, Linda Burden (Steve) of Killen, AL, and Shirley Pate (Bo) of Lawrenceburg, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Georgie was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Robert Martin (Mary), Bill Martin (Sue), and Pete Martin, as well as his sisters, Hazel Tilley and Frances Mercier.

Family visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 11:30 - 12:00 and friends visitation will be 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN., burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers honoring his memory will be Justin Tingle, Derrick Tilley, Skyler Skaggs, and Scotty Skaggs.
