Georgia Gertrude Walker

Mrs. Georgia Gertrude Lofties Porter Walker was born March 28, 1920 in Decatur County, TN to the union of the late George and Lucy Ann Johnson Lofties.Mrs. Walker was a CNA for a number of years at Wayne County Nursing Home and a cook at Frank Hughes School. She was a member of the St. James Methodist Church in Clifton, TN and a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Walker departed this life on July 24, 2019 at her home, making her stay in this life some 99 Years, 3 Months and 26 Days.

She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Maxey of Elyria, OH, Clara Hicks, husband William of Waynesboro, TN, grandchildren, Anthony Bumphus of Elyria, OH, Felicia Bumphus of Elyria, OH, Corey Porter, wife Felicia of Selmer, TN, Jackie Wade of Nashville, TN, Eric Hicks of Waynesboro, TN, Tanisha Hicks of Linden, TN, Terrmaine , Terrmaine Witherspoon of Sandusky, OH, Celicia Maxey of Acron, OH, Mark Maxey, wife Laquita of Indianapolis, IN, 30 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving family members and friends, special cousin Harold Johnson, wife Elsie, Sandusky, OH.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Porter, her second husband, Bryant Walker, daughters, Scharlena Porter and Brenda Witherspoon, son, Hal Porter, grandchildren, Kente Witherspoon and Tony Maxey, brothers, Walker Lofties and Joe Yarbrough

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 10:00 am until service time at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Clifton, TN.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Clifton, Tennessee, with Reverend Kevin Cross officiating. Burial will follow in Lizard Glade Cemetery in Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
