George Nathaniel 'Pepaw' Wilson

Mr. George Nathaniel 'Pepaw' Wilson, Jr., age 74 of Toone, passed Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2015, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR.

Mr. Wilson was born in Hardeman Co., TN to the late George Nathaniel Wilson, Sr. and Lillie Louise Cupples on Friday, February 28, 1941. He was a roofer for many years, and he drove a truck for years to follow. Mr. Wilson was a Baptist. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, gardening, harvesting, wood working and “ eatin’ ". Mr. Wilson also spent four years serving in the National Guard. He lived most of his life in Tennessee before moving to Mississippi about five years ago and had lived the last 6 months in Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife Judy Wilson of Marion, AR; his two daughters, Sherry Brice of Knoxville, TN and Lori Rush of Nashville, TN; his two sons, Nathaniel Wilson of Nashville, TN and Arthur Wilson of Marion, AR; his two sisters, Martha Lowrance of Hornsby and Jennie Ervin of Toone; his brother, George Nathaniel Wilson, IV, of Toone; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Nathaniel Wilson, Sr. and Lillie Louise Cupples; two sisters, Stella Warren and Joyce Ann Wilson Kiggins, and a great-granddaughter, Alayah McSwiney.

The family requests memorials be sent to New Union Baptist Church.
