George Franklin (Frank) Wilmeth was born November 21, 1919 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Logan and Lorena Deming Wilmeth.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Parmely on April 6, 1957.
Mr. Wilmeth began his working life as a farmer, a vocation he loved and enjoyed his entire life. After serving in the United States Army during World War II, Mr. Wilmeth went to work for the GM&O Railroad. He later operated a gas station in Ramer and also was the owner and operator of Wilmeth's Grocery. Mr. Wilmeth drove a school bus for the McNairy County School system for 35 years, and retired from the State of Tennessee after working for the Forestry Department for 17 years. One of his great pleasures in life was being on his tractor and working on his farm, where he raised cattle, hogs, and goats. He was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ in Ramer, Tennessee.
Mr. Wilmeth departed this life on November 11, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 90 Years, 11 Months, 21 Days. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia (Parmely) Wilmeth of Pocahontas, TN; two daughters, Pam Horton and husband Joe and Karen Bowers and husband John, all of Ramer, TN; four grandchildren: Rafe Horton, Callie Horton, Seth Bowers, Sophie Bowers; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilmeth was preceded in death by three brothers: James Wilmeth, Fred Wilmeth, Wesley Wilmeth; and a nephew, Rufus Wilmeth.
