George Harold Smith

February 22, 1934 — September 26, 2019

George Harold Smith was born February 22, 1934 in Ramer, Tennessee, the son of the late Nova Smith and Hattie Basden Smith White.

On November 13, 1954, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jean George Smith, whom he met on the school bus when she was in fifth grade.

Mr. Smith was a HVAC Technician for Taylor Heating and Air in Corinth, MS until his retirement. He was a member of the Acton Church of Christ in Michie, Tennessee. He was also a member of Woodmen of the World and the NRA.

Mr. Smith was an inspiration to his fellow church members at Acton. He was always there with a smile on his face, a joke on his lips, and a kind word. He also enjoyed hunting, taking care of his grandchildren, and teaching his sons about his love for hunting. But, he is most well-known in the community for opening up his home and fostering countless children through the years. He was affectionately known as "Daddy" or "Papa George" by those who were entrusted to his care.
