George W. Saxton was born October 11, 1934 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late J. Lawrence Barry Saxton and Graple Hurst Saxton Lamb. He was united in marriage to Bobbie McNorton on April 2, 1966.Mr. Saxton was a retired truck driver for Poole Truck Lines and was a member of the Solitude Freewill Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Adamsville Lodge, a member of the Hamasa Temple of the Shrine in Meridian, Mississippi and a member of the Scottish Rite in Corinth, Mississippi. Mr. Saxton departed this life on March 5, 2006 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 4 Months, 22 Days. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Bobbie McNorton Saxton of Adamsville, Tennessee; a daughter, Debra Sue Hill of Dallas, Texas; a son, Bobby Dean Saxton of Houston, Texas; two step-sons: Harry Leon Parten of Columbiana, Alabama and Phillip Parten of Henderson, Tennessee; a sister, Bessie Barr of Adamsville, Tennessee; a brother, C. L. Saxton of Grand Prairie, Texas; numerous grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Saxton was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Ann Knox and a son, George Saxton, Jr.
