George Washington May, Jr., 70, of Brownsville, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis.
The husband of Opal Whitten May, who survives, he worked in logging for 20 years. Mr. May was born February 28, 1935 in Hardeman County, son of the late George Washington May, Sr. and Icie Donahoe May.
Private graveside services were 3:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2006 at McCalip’s Chapel Cemetery near Selmer with Orville McMahan officiating.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one daughter, Icie Marie May West of Nashville; two sisters, Emmer Jean Roberson of Hornsby, Bonnie Cotham of South Carolina and one granddaughter, Abigail Cheyenne West of Nashville.
