George Thomas Martin was born June 20, 1946 in Dancyville, TN, the son of the late Harry Franklin and Janie Tennessee Cleek Martin.
He was united in marriage to Patsy Jean Lawson on October 7, 1967. He was a retired U.S. Army SFC. Mr. Martin was a great guy that never met a stranger. He was an outstanding husband, dad and "Poppy".
Mr. Martin departed this life on December 17, 2018 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 72 Years, 5 Months, 27 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Martin of Ramer, TN; three daughters: Lorie Tackett and husband James of Ramer, TN, Jeannie Martin of Ashland, MS, Chamberly Martin of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren: Nikki Tackett, Jesse Tackett, Jasmine Johnson, Jason Davis, Jaiden Ward, Heidii Switzer; three great grandchildren, Emma Tackett, Addison Dixe, Mason Hunter; two sisters, Betty Thompson, Janie Palmer; two brothers, Cliford Martin, Earl Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by four sisters: Lucy Moody, Helen Leek, Myrtle Johnson, Rebecca Simpson; three brothers: Harry "Junior" Martin, James Martin, Roy Martin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to donor's choice.
