Services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Waynesboro , Tennessee, with Chad Balentine and Richard Bane officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 8, 5:00--8:00 pm and on Thursday, December 9, 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro
Mr. Gilchrist departed this life on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Wayne County Nursing Home, in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 5 Months, 19 Days. He was born June 17, 1927 in Grove Hill, Alabama the son of the late James Cullen and Lillie Dell Duke Gilchrist. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilchrist was preceded in death by a brother, Miller Gilchrist
Mr. Gilchrist was retired from the United States Air Force serving 21 years .
He is survived by his wife Eunice (Hinson) Gilchrist ; daughters, Sharon (Gilchrist) Mathers and husband Michael; Sandra (Gilchrist) Morgan and husband William J.
granddaughter; Cindy M. Mathers
grandson; Jordan L. Kiddy all of Waynesboro, TN
brothers, Edward Gilchrist of Birmingham, AL, and Branton Gilchrist of Grove Hill, AL; sisters, Mildred Paul of Grove Hill, AL, and Betty Sue Starling of McClinty, FL; and a very special friend that was like a daughter, Christina Huett of Montgomery, AL
