George L. Dunkin, age 67 of Saulsbury, passed away Saturday morning, February 20, 2016, in Southaven, MS.
A native of Fountain, Alabama, he was born May 4, 1948, to Orman and Mabel Ussery Dunkin, both of whom preceded him in death. He retired to Hardeman County from BNSF Railroad as a maintenance engineer, after living in Alabama, Tennessee and Arkansas. He was active in Ducks Unlimited and hunting clubs and enjoyed being outside and being around his family. Other hobbies included gardening and watching Alabama football, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Dunkin was a member of Fountain Baptist Church in Fountain, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Faye Dunkin of Saulsbury; two daughers and their husbands, Wendy (Tim) Newton of Saulsbury and Kim (Mark) white of Kentucky; two brothers and a sister in law, Glen (Donnie) Dunkin of Como, NC and Vern Dunkin of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Bernice McKenzie of Franklin, AL; and 10 grandchildren.
