George D. DeBerry, of Cocoa, Fla., passed away Saturday, April 29, 2006. George was born in 1929 in Hornsby, Tenn. After serving in the United States Air Force, he spent many years traveling the country, working in the aerospace industry. He completed his career in hotel management. George returned to Florida upon retiring in 1990 to pursue his love of fishing.
George was preceded in death by his father, T.A. DeBerry, Sr., his mother, Lavenia DeBerry, and his brother, Thomas DeBerry. He was a caring father that is survived by his sons, Gregory (Kim), Murray (Linda), his daughters, Beth, and Becky Humphrey (Jim); ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Gordon, Bobby, David, Russell, and his sister, Cora Lake.
Services were at Shackelford's Bolivar chapel on Thursday, May 4, at 11:00 a.m. with burial at Haltom’s Chapel Cemetery in Chester County.
