GEORGE WILLIAM CALVERT
Was born in Mustang, Oklahoma on October 21, 1923 the son of the late Isaac Bracken and Ethel Camilla Greeson Calvert.
On July 26, 1948 he was united in marriage to the former Laverne Gilchrist Pettigrew, who survives.
Mr. Calvert was a retired salesman for Wolfe Sales Company. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Mr. Calvert departed this life on January 18, 2007 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 28 days.
Other than his wife Laverne of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by 2 daughters, Peggy Churchwell of Corinth, Mississippi and Connie Wolfe of Savannah, Tennessee.
2 sons, Ike Calvert of Savannah, Tennessee and Mike Calvert of Jackson, Tennessee.
8 grandchildren, Laurie Stephens, DeAnne Smith, Mark Churchwell, Will Calvert, Wesley Calvert, Joshua Wolfe, Candace Norton and Courtney Murphy.
6 great-grandchildren, Casey Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Taylor Smith, Garrett Smith, Morgan Churchwell and Mallory Churchwell.
2 sisters, Lucille Aday of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Gerry Higginbottom of Boswell, Oklahoma
One brother, Jimmy Calvert of Mustang, Oklahoma
Mr. Calvert was also preceded in death by one sister, Bessie Hooten and 2 brothers, Burnes and Kenneth Calvert.
