George Calvin Brown

George Calvin (Pete) Brown Sr. of Selmer, Tennessee, was born on November 24, 1939, in the Beauty Hill community of McNairy County, the son of the late John C. and Maudie Mae Griswell Brown. He married Carolyn S. Bell on April 21, 1962, and worked as a drywall superintendent. He was a Vietnam Army veteran and then served in the Army Reserves.Mr. Brown died on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at his home at the age of 67 years and 4 months.Survivors are his wife Carolyn S. Brown; daughter Vickie Meek and husband Steve of Adamsville, Tennessee; son George Calvin Brown, Jr. and wife Lorri of Adamsville; grandson Mike Meek of Adamsville; sister Bess Siler of Brownsville, Tennessee; brothers Jim Brown and wife Faye of Adamsville and Albert Brown of Selmer.A host of other relatives and friends.Other than his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ann Smith and Delma Sue Garner, and a brother Curtis Howard Brown
