Geneva D. Wood
was born March 18, 1914 in Hardin County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Odell G. and Florence Cossey Duncan.
She was united in marriage to Robert Murry Wood on May 3, 1934. Mr. Wood preceded her in death on July 11, 1991.
Mrs. Wood was a home maker and loved to do yard work. She was a member of the Savannah church of Christ.
Mrs. Wood departed this life on November 6, 2008 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 7 Months, 19 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan (Wood) Ellis and husband Robin of Humboldt, TN; a brother, Billy C. Duncan of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Cloteal (Duncan) Lear of Atlanta, GA and Virginia (Duncan) Pope of Linden, TN; five grandchildren, Robert Wood and wife Jona, Robin (Wood) Ellis, Cheri Kozlowski, Mary Beth Wilson, and Suzanne Schrivner; 9 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by a son, Robert Murry Wood Jr.; two brothers, Ralph Duncan and G.R. Duncan; two sisters, Wilma (Duncan) Spreight and Elizabeth (Duncan) Callens.
Services will be held on November 8, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, Tennessee, with David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the White Sulphur Cemetery at Pickwick Dam, Tennessee. Serving as Pallbearers: Brad Silliman, Mark Wayne, Richard Spry, Jerry Pope, Joel Pope, and Tony Neill. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were: David Pope, Gary Lear, Larry Baker, Larry Speight, Buck Petty, and Ralph Callens.
