She was born and reared and lived her entire life in Chester County, the daughter of the late Joseph Lawson and Emma May Smith Conder. She attended Chester County Schools. She was married to William Harlie Stewart in 1942. They made their home in the Sweetlips Community, Glendale and then Henderson the past fifty-seven years. Mr. Stewart died in 1953. Mrs. Stewart had worked in Food Service at Freed Hardeman and then as a C.N.A. at Chester County Nursing Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Hostess for a number of years.
Children: Ann Ballard (James) of Montezuma, Fay Stewart and Jane Flatt both of Henderson; grandchildren: Randy Ballard (Shannon) of Henderson, Brandi Price (Tim) of Bethel Springs, Heather Stewart of Jackson, Heath Stewart and Brad Flatt both of Henderson; and seven great grandchildren.
