GENEVA TUCKER BELL

Henderson, TN: Geneva Mae Tucker Bell age 89 passed away April 1, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.

She was born July 29, 1929 in Madison County, the daughter of the late Walter and Vada Brasher Tucker. She went to school at Malesus. She married Joseph LaFayette ‘Joe’ Bell in 1947. They made their home in Henderson. She worked at Salant & Salant for a few years. She and Joe operated Bells Drive In on South Church Street for over sixty years with their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Bell is survived by two sons, Danny Bell and wife Glenda of Henderson and Phil Bell of Henderson; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Judy Bell Cothren (Jerry) of Henderson and a son-in-law, Danny Thomas of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Bell, a son, Stan Bell, a daughter, Karen Thomas; a grandson, David Thomas; a great grandson, Christopher Thomas; a brother, Sonny Tucker and two sisters, Jane England and Joy Anthony.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Nathan Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Henderson City cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue beginning at 10:00 AM Thursday until service time.
