Gene Edward Steely

Gene Edward Steely was born July 16, 1946 in Florence, Alabama the son of the late Edward Alexander "Polk" and Vera Evergreen Handley Steely.He was united in marriage to Glenda Faye Steely on June 27, 1970, who survives.Mr. Steely was a U.S. Army Veteran having served 2 years in the Vietnam War. He worked as a construction dispatcher at Yellow Creek for 5 years. Mr. Steely was a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and a former member of the VFW. He enjoyed working on cars and fixing them up.Mr. Steely departed this life on October 11, 2007 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 61 Years, 2 Months, 25 Days.In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Diane Dendy and husband Scott of Savannah, TN; a son, Eddie Dale Steely and wife Elaina of Savannah, TN; two sisters, Jackie McFall of Hohenwald, TN, Glenda Faye Beard of Cloverdale, AL; a brother, Terry Steely of Savannah, TN; two grandchildren, Cody Wayne Dendy, Chelsea Dendy.In addition to his parents, Mr. Steely was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Steely.
