Gary Owen

Richard Gary Owen was born July 6, 1936 in Covington, TN the son of the late William Allison and Eunice Fleming Owen.

He was united in marriage to Cathy Cox on March 13, 1980.

Mr. Owen retired from Yellow Freight Systems after 40 years of service. He served in the United States Army for 8 years. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a loyal friend and a patriotic American.

Mr. Owen departed this life on January 4, 2022 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 85 Years, 5 Months, 29 Days. He is survived by his wife Cathy Owen of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Alyson Foreman and husband Caley of Memphis , TN; a son, Hugh D Cox and wife Teri of Jesup, GA; three grandchildren, Shelby K. Cox, Molly Evans, and Jacob Foreman; a sister, Janice Townsend and husband Ellis of Franklin, TN; many special nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Owen was preceded in death by a son, Jamie L. Cox; a brother, Harold Owen; two sisters, Peggy Duane and Joan Glidewell.
