Mr. Evans passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home in Middleton.
The husband of Pam Evans, who survives, he was a carpenter. Mr. Evans was born in Hardeman County to the late James Howard Evans and Flossie Pitts Evans and lived most of his life here. He was a member of Middleton First United Methodist Church, loved his grandchildren, riding motorcycles and playing golf.
In addition to his wife, whom he married February 21, 1975, he is survived by two sons, Jeff Evans of Franklin, Chris Marcum of Middleton; a daughter, Jennifer Richardson of Jackson; two sisters, Lisa Miller of Selmer, Lori Evans of Bolivar; a brother, Dennis Evans of Henderson; and five grandchildren, Michaela Evans, Reid Evans, Nick Boone, Elizabeth Boone and Desta Marcum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Polly Carter.
