Gale Thompson was born on October 21, 1941 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of the late James Wesley and Mattie Belle White Young.
Gale worked as a sales associate at Walmart and was a homemaker for many years. She cared of her mother and father before they passed and her four children while her husband was working on the boat. She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Gale was the most loving person you could ever meet and was a true Christian woman. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Gale Thompson departed this life on January 1, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 83 years, 2 months, and 11 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Copeland (Steve) of Fort Myers, Florida, Deborah Young (Donnie) of Savannah, Tennessee, and Patricia Littlejohn (Gary) of Iuka, Mississippi; brothers, Tam Young (Martha) and Raymond Earl Young (Kay); grandchildren, Caroline Cosio, Jessica Moore, Christina Pisanello, Eric Littlejohn, Fallon Thompson, Heather Thompson, Jason Young, Jessica Cook, and Jordan Young; and great grandchildren, Addie Tomanek, Annie Tomanek, Avery Tomanek, Prestyn Littlejohn, Brentley Littlejohn, Trever Young, Katie Cook, Harper Young, Peyton Young, Neyland Young, Lilly Cook, CJ Cook, and Hudson Young.
In addition to her parents, Gale was preceded in death by her son, James E. Thompson, Jr.; sister, Matta Vaye Young; and grandson, Christopher Littlejohn.
