G. C. Shelton

G. C. Shelton Jr. was born November 24, 1923 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Gilcie Clyde and Alma Case Shelton.Mr. Shelton was a retired maintenance worker for the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was a long time member of the West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee. He enjoyed gardening and participating in the Golden Friends at church.Mr. Shelton departed this life on March 31, 2009 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 4 Months, 7 Days.He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marie (Inman) Shelton of Selmer, TN; four daughters, Charlotte Dickey and husband Jimmy of Stantonville, TN, Jone Dixon and husband Wendell of Corinth, MS, Vickie Allen of Atlanta, GA and Pam Staggs of Hot Springs, AR; a son, Philip Shelton and wife Susan of Byhalia, MS; a brother, Troy Shelton of Stantonville, TN; seven grandchildren, Sharon Horsewood, Allison Smith, Jenna Dixon, Jennifer Malone, Jeff Bass, Dillon Staggs and Dalton Staggs; 10 Great Grandchildren.He is preceded in death by three sisters, Burlene Inman, Luedeen Moffett and an Infant sister.
