Frenchie J. "Baby Jay" Williamson departed this life on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 23 days. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee the son of Isaac and Myrtle Atwater Williamson who died when he was young. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Kermit and Leone Atwater. On September 21, 1985, he was united in marriage to Dineta Bumpus, who survives.
Frenchie served his country honorable in the United States Army. He received a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and a Master's degree in Plant Science. He was a drug counselor for Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. Frenchie had also been employed with Wyeth Pharmaceutical, Monsanto, and TVA. He was a member of Hurts Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Jackson, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dineta Williamson of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Gladys Frierson of Jackson, Tennessee, Ruby Bond of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rose Hunt and husband, John both of Jackson, Tennessee; brother, Vernon Williamson of Sacramento, California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Cherry; brothers, Nolen Williamson, Bethel Williamson, and Lawrence (Candy Man) Williamson.
