Freddie Mae Gray

Freddie Mae Staggs Gray was born April 21, 1947 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Taylor and Gladys Ray Staggs. She was united in marriage to William JC Gray Sr. on April 4, 1964 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1990. Mrs. Gray worked for many years at Dura Automotive. She departed this life on September 28, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 75 years, 5 months, and 7 days.

She is survived by a daughter, Nora Gray of Waynesboro, TN; two sons, William Gray and husband James Prieto of Milton, FL, and Gary Gray and wife Jerri Kay of Lawrenceburg, TN; four sisters, Glenda Ponds of Adamsville, TN, Mary Jane Copeland of Savannah, TN, Shirley Morrow of Waynesboro, TN, and Faye Greer of Clifton, TN; a brother, John Staggs of Waynesboro, TN; and two grandchildren, Daniel Gray and Teyha Gray.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gray was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Alonzo Gray; a sister, Betty Frances Garrett; and a brother, Samuel Taylor Staggs.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors at Waynesboro in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Jacob Kitchens officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery at Lawrenceburg, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
