Freddie Cranston Berry

November 18, 1939 — January 14, 2013

Freddie Cranston Berry of Florence, AL was born November 18, 1939 in Cypress Inn, TN, the son of the late Walter Cranston and Dora Alma Wright Berry. He was united in marriage to Sue England on March 20, 1961.



Mr. Berry was a heavy equipment operator with Valley Crane Service, a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local #320, and a member of Cornerstone Church in Collinwood, Tennessee.



Mr. Berry departed this life on Monday, January 14, 2013 at his home at the age of 73 Years, 1 Month, 27 Days after an extended illness.



He is survived by his wife, Sue England Berry; a daughter, Donna Durham and husband, Randy; two grandchildren, Katelyn and Shannon Durham; a grt-grandchild, Gracie Durham, (Papaw's Sweetie) all of Florence, AL; a brother, Ricky Berry and wife, Bonnie of Cypress Inn, TN; two sisters, Linda Russom and Evon Sherriff both of Lapeer, MI; several nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, Fred McFall and his late wife, Earlene and their family.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Berry was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry (Doc) Berry.



Services will be Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with David Thompson, John Hodum,and Randy Durham officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Jackie West, James Earl Abernathy, Anthony Moomaw, Ed Thasher, David Stooksberry, Terry McFall. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Dial and the early morning coffee drinkers at Cloverdale Quick Mart.



The family extends a special "thank-you" to the Hospice of the Shoals.
