Funeral services for Franklin Dean Otto, age 72, of Iron City, TN, formerly of Danvers, IL, will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Danvers, IL with Ron Thacker and Maury Gibson officiating. Interment following in Lance Cemetery near Carlock, IL with Calvert and Metzler Memorial Homes in charge.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services at the church. Local visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee.
Mr. Otto, a native of Colorado Springs, CO, died Wednesday, January 3, 2006 at Crockett Hospital in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle Otto and Ada Jean Bennet Otto, a daughter, Lori Jo Otto, and a sister, Yvonne Amerman. He worked as a millright and supervisor in Bloomington for many years. Mr. Otto was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Iron City, TN, Danvers Masonic Lodge, and a member of Collinwood First Baptist Church where he drove the church van for the children. He loved to shoot trap and was a member of ATA, and Muscle Shoals Trap and Skeet Club in Florence, AL.
He is survived by his wife, Corine Matheny Otto of Iron City, TN
son, Bradley Dean (Maureen) Otto of Redford, MI; and daughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Leingang of Danvers, IL and Mary Beth (Dan) Richard of Normal, IL
16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
brothers, Dan Otto of AZ and Jim Otto of TX
sisters, Anny Lyle Neblock of Carlock, IL, Patricia Zehr of Mackinaw, IL, and Myrtle Jenkins of WA.
