Mrs. Frankie Sue Howell Ryon McKelvey, of Cordova, died Friday evening at her home.
A native of Hardeman County, she was the daugher of the late Ernest Scott and Minnie Sisco Howell. She had lived in Memphis for over 60 years. She retired from Plough Industries and also worked for Memphis Light, Gas and Water for over 10 years.
A Baptist in belief, she enjoyed working in the yard and with flowers, University of Memphis football and basketball and especially loved being with her family.
She leaves her husband, Eugene McKelvey, whom she married on August 28, 2000; her daughter, Linda Sue Petty of Cordova; her step-daughter, Sandra (Steve) Benjamin of Bartlett; her sisters, Louise Howell Doyle of Bolivar, Emma Dean Howell (Edward) Pipkin of Bartlett and Margarette Howell (Roy) Brumbelow of Middleton; her brother, William "Bill" (Doris) Howell of Middleton; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Ryon of Cordova; a step daughter-in-law Sylvia McKelvey of Millington; three granddaughters, Brittney (Daniel) Moore, Wendy (Eddie) Echeverria, and Emily (Adam) Daniels; one grandson, Mark W. Petty, II; 9 great-grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Martin Ryon; a son, David Martin Ryon; a step-son, Douglas Lee McKelvey; a brother, Ernest Leroy Howell; and a sister, Georgia Howell Smith.
