Frankie Farris Bain
was born on November 7, 1909 in Wayne County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Charles J. and Minnie Lawson Farris. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Walter and Laura Melson, from the age of three, after the death of her mother.
On May 31, 1930, she was united in marriage to Emory H. Bain, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1997.
Mrs. Bain lived in Hardin County most of her life and retired after twenty-three years as a teacher in both Wayne and Hardin Counties. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Savannah Church of Christ.
She departed this life on January 28, 2006 at the Hardin County Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Mrs. Bain is survived by two sons: Jimmy Neal Bain of Savannah, Tennessee and
Joe Keith Bain of Brentwood, Tennessee;
four grandchildren: Laura Burkhart of Brentwood, Tennessee;
Keith Bain of Franklin, Tennessee;
Jeremy Bain of Knoxville, Tennessee;
and Carrie Ann Bain of Franklin, Tennessee;
six great-grandchildren;
one half-sister, Mary Farris McWilliams of Collinwood, Tennessee
and one half-brother, Allen Farris, also of Collinwood.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Guy and Cecil Farris;
two half-brothers: C.J. and Harold Farris and one sister, Minnie C. Eaton
