Frank Wheeler Smith

Frank Wheeler Smith was born March 12, 1931 in Washington, DC the son of the late Jack Edwin Smith and Marie Loretta Thomas. He was united in marriage to Sonoko Isa for 62 years. Mr. Smith was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Okinawa and retired as an AirForce Tech Sergeant. He departed this life on January 10, 2022 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 29 days.

He is survived by his wife Sonoko (Isa) Smith of Cypress Inn, TN; two daughters, Mary West and husband Ricky of Cypress Inn, TN, and Masako Smith of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two granddaughters, Vanessa Strange and husband Rick, and Natasha Brooks and husband Burt; and three great grandchildren, Carter , Vaughn , and Saxon.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, William Smith.

A graveside service with Military Rites will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Gardens in Collinwood, TN with Ricky West officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
