WES JOHNSON

Henderson, TN: Frank Wesley Johnson, Jr. age 64, passed away June 24, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

 He was born December 4, 1958 in Jackson, TN the son of the late Frank Wesley and Margaret Flora Mims Johnson. He grew up in Jackson and attended Old Hickory Academy (now USJ) and graduated in 1976. He then attended U.T. Martin.

He married Leeanne McLeary in 1979. They had three children together.

He began working for the USPS at age 19 and worked forty-two years as a mail carrier in Jackson, before retiring in 2017.

He married Annette Hinson on April 7, 2011, and they made their home in Henderson since 2018.

He loved his kids and grandkids, who also loved him because he was a fun loving kid at heart himself.

He enjoyed yard work, gardening and spending time with is dogs, Bree and Ace and his puppy “Cate”.  

He was a member of the Liberty Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Annette Hinson Johnson of Henderson; a son, Daniel Wesley Johnson (Adrian) of Jackson; a stepson, Casey Martin (Sabrina) of Henderson;  two daughters, Lori Williams (Bradley) of Jackson and Amy Johnson of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Amber Williams (Luke) of Henderson; eleven grandchildren; three sisters, Alida Gookin (Bobby) of Tunica, MS, Peggy Young of Arlington, TN and Judy Pierce (Kenny) of MO.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 28^th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Rick Babin officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday.
