Frances Davis

Frances Pitts Daviswas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 31, 1916 the daughter of the late Barney and Allie Holland Pitts.On December 18, 1942 she was united in marriage to H.L. Davis, who preceded her in death on October 3, 1972.Mrs. Davis attended Memphis State University, the University of Tennessee and George Peabody College, where she got her degree. She went on to teach for the Hardin County School System in Saltillo. She had also owned and operated Davis Trading Post. Mrs. Davis loved her vegetable garden, flowers, her dogs, and to read.She departed this life on Friday, January 27, 2012 at the age of 95 years, 11 months, 27 days.She is survived by her grandchildren, Laird Forrest, Russell Forrest, and Amy Forrest; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Forrest and Joseph Forrest.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Davis Forrest, and brothers, Hardy Pitts and W.B. Pitts.
