Springboro, OH: Mrs. Frances Yvonne Wilcoxson Davis, age 83, passed away September 4, 2023, at Bee Hive Assisted Living in Springboro, OH.

She was born in Florence, AL June 13, 1940, daughter of the late Jess Menton and Jessie Hagan Young Wilcoxson. She grew up in Florence and Georgia, then moved to Henderson in 1956 and was a 1958 graduate of CCHS.

Fran attended Freed Hardeman College and then David Lipscomb College graduating in 1962 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

She began her teaching career in 1962 in Memphis, then Little Rock, AR, then moved back to Henderson in 1979. She taught History at Chester County High School retiring in 2006.

Mrs. Davis was a very patriotic person who was known for her elaborate decorations in red, white, and blue.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, was an officer in the Beta Club, was involved with the Girls Scouts, and was a leader of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship.)

She was an active member of the Rotary Club and was very active in the Henderson Church of Christ and the Centerville Church of Christ in Centerville, OH.

Her true passion was her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Sisco (Mark) of Suwanee, GA and Susan Music (Todd) of Springboro, OH; a sister, Jane Maness of Germantown, TN; six grandchildren, Emily Lipscomb (Dale), Katie Blanchard (Mitchell), Clayton Music, Jess Music (Mary Rose), Paul Music (Alyssa), and Elizabeth Music; and three great grandchildren, Sydney Lipscomb, Hayley Lipscomb, and Christopher Music.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday September 8, 2023, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Dr. Billy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM service time on Friday.
