Ford Griggs

Mr. Ford Griggs of Waynesboro, TN departed this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 7 Months, 10 Days. He was born June 1, 1927 on Factory Creek in Wayne County, TN the son of the late James Garfield and Virginia Cole Griggs. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griggs was preceded in death by brothers, Quinton Griggs and Cole Griggs; sisters, Marie Borden and Edith Lynch.



Mr. Ford was a businessman in the resturant industry, supervisor at the former Schoenburger factory, owner of 7 Springs Recretional Park, was developer of Shady Grove Trailer Park, was an antique dealer, and advocate for "save our streams" and voice of remaining forest of Wayne County. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Waynesboro Church of God.



He is survived by sons, Randy Griggs and Jimmy Griggs both of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Pamela Gail Wooten of Cold Water, Mi, Belita Fox of Corona, CA; grandchildren; Wm(Billy) Wilson; Christina (Kevin) Eslick; Cheryl Wilson Gera; Elise Wooten; Wyatt Griggs; Maverick Griggs; Solon Griggs and Lydia Griggs; great grandchildren; Amanda; Belita; Madison; Cheyenne; Dakota and Nathanael.



Services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Tommy Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the McGee Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee.
