Floyd Durbin

Floyd Durbin was born in Hardin County, TN on May 27, 1926, the son of the late William Henry and Minnie Holland Durbin. On February 19, 1947 he was united in marriage to Anna Laura Clement who preceded him in death on June 16, 2007.
Mr. Durbin lived in Hardin County all his life and was a retired maintenance supervisor for Savannah Manufacturing, where he worked for over 20 years. In addition to this, he also had worked for 15 years at Brantley Charter Service in Lexington, TN and 15 years at Wolfe Sales Co. in Savannah, TN.
He was a member of the Eureka United Methodist Church in Savannah, the VFW Post #4606, a lifetime member of the DAV, American Legion Post #2000, and the Woodmen of the World, where he was the 1986 Jurisdictional President of Tennessee, and a WWII Veteran of the US Navy.
He enjoyed woodworking in his workshop, repairing all sorts of items, listening to Country and Gospel LP records, installing sound systems for Fairs, churches, and Woodmen Hall. He enjoyed attending Woodmen of the World conventions and always raised the American Flag at the Bluegrass Festival. He was an avid member of the Democratic Party.
Mr. Durbin departed this life on Saturday December 10, 2011 at the Hardin Medical Center at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 13 days. He is survived by a daughter, DiAnna Durbin Alford of St. Augustine, FL; 2 grandchildren, Tiffany Hurst Berry and Heather Hurst Randles, and 2 great-grandchildren, Autumn Caroline Randles and Brooklyn Dianna Randles.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by Mr. W.C. Emerson and Mrs. Bobbie Porter Emerson, who raised Mr. Durbin after his parents deaths.
