Florence Eleanor Sherwood

Mrs. Sherwood died Tuesday morning, December 2, 2008 at NHC in Somerville.



A native and long-time resident of Memphis, she was the daughter of the late Charles Milton and Florence Eleanor Howles Rome. On March 15, 1931, she married Leonard Kellough "Jack" Sherwood, who was born and raised in Bolivar. Mr. Sherwood died January 18, 1984.



Mrs. Sherwood was a member of the Bolivar 1st United Methodist Church and life-member of the Stonewall Chapter, No. 280, of the Eastern Star in Memphis. Although a homemaker most of her life, in her younger years, she worked as a commercial artist.



She leaves two daughters, Peggy Carpenter of Nashville and Bonnie Vickers of Bolivar; one son, Milton L. "Butch" Sherwood of Collierville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
