Finis Buford Barnes

Finis Buford Barnes 99, died February 18, 2006 at Fairview Skilled Care Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Mr. Barnes was born December 5, 1906 in the Mt. Gilead community and spent his adult life farming in the Jones Bottom community. He was a member of the Selmer Primitive Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the McNairy County Farmers\'s Co-op. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents, William A and Martha Vaughn Barnes, his wife of 80 years, Ruth Jones Barnes, brothers Hugh and Clarence Barnes and Arlon Henson, sisters Artie McCormick, Elizabeth Cox, Sarah Armour and Delphia Henson. He is survived by one daughter, Doris B Dickinson of Florence, South Carolina, one son, William W. Barnes of Huntsville, Alabama, six grandchildren ten great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren Memorial donations may be made to Selmer Primitive Baptist Church, Marjorie Jones, or the charity or church of choice. Services will be held on February 21, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home, Selmer, Tennessee, with Cecil Woodruff officiating. Burial to follow in Falcon Cemetery at Selmer, Tennessee.
