Fayetta Lynch Mathis

Fayetta Lynch Mathis "Meme" was born September 27, 1942 in Waynesboro, TN the daughter of the late Arthur James and Lillian Lyda Keeton Lynch. Ms Mathis was a co-business owner of Gerald's Best Dollar Store in Waynesboro, TN for 25+ years, and retired Wayne County Executive Assistant. She was an active member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN, and Women on Missions (WMU) where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years. She also loved sewing, reading, and cooking for her family and her church family. Meme departed this life on December 2, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 80 years, 2 months, and 5 days.

She is survived by daughters, Betina Faye Sanders (Willie Douglas), Brenda Gale Butler (Patrick Shawn), and Aundra Lee Ray (Jason Allen), all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Garrett Douglas Sanders (Vanessa), Hillary Ray Cope (Brady), Hannah-Kate McKnight (Trevor), Wesley Adam Sanders, Boston Cain Ray (Erin), and Sawyer Mathis Ray (Chaley); and great grandchildren, Heath Douglas Sanders, Cutler Mack Ray, Hensley Faith McKnight, Easton Cain Ray, Callahan Ray Cope, and Camden Parker McKnight.

In addition to her parents, Ms Mathis was preceded in death by her siblings, James Franklin Lynch, Bessie Colleen Modlin, Dona Odell Cress, Lonnie Nayham Lynch, and Jerry Crowlin Lynch.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN, with Kerry Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Sanders, Boston Ray, Brady Cope, Wesley Sanders, and Sawyer Ray.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Trevor McKnight.
