She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Claude Martin and Cora Clinton Jones Ledbetter. She attended schools in Chester County and in 1932 was married to Robert Howard "Shorty" Mullins. They lived in Chester County from 1932 until 1952 where they farmed. They moved to McNairy County in 1955, where they farmed and raised horses and mules. Mrs. Mullins worked as a nurse for Dr. James H. Smith and Dr. Monte Earl Smith. They served as Administrators of Mapel Hill Nursing Home from 1962 until 1978 when she retired. Mr. Mullins died in 1987. She continued to live on the farm at Bethel Springs until 2000 when she made her home with her daughter Debbie. She was a member of the Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby Mullins (Nelda) of Bethel Springs, Nicky Mullins (Connie) Selmer; a daughter, Debbie Hurst (Jerry) of Enville; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Mullins; a brother, Bill Ledbetter of Pheonix, AZ; four sisters, Lois Miller, Walthan, Michigan, Louise Willoughby of Memphis, Ann Hidinger of Memphis and Nancy Smith of McPherson, Kansas; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Howard "Shorty" Mullins in 1987; a son, George Mullins in 1996; two grandsons, Tim Mullins and Danny Mullins and four brothers, Don, Joe, Gene and Jack Ledbetter.
