FAYE HORTON CARROLL
Henderson, TN: Pearl Otha “Faye†Horton Carroll, age 82, passed away Wednesday November 28, 2012 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Carroll was born and reared in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Darling Claude and Lillian George Horton. She attended schools in Hardin County and in 1950 married Houston Carroll. They made their home in Henderson all their married life. Mr. Carroll managed the Chester Farmer’s Co-op and Mrs. Carroll was a cook at East Chester Elementary from 1972 until she retired in 1992.
She was involved in the PTA during her son’s school years. She was an avid supporter of the projects of the Chester County Lions Club. She was a member of the Clarks Creek Primitive Baptist Church for over fifty two years.
She is survived by three sons, Garry Lynn Carroll and wife Melinda of Henderson, Terry Carroll and wife Debbie of Milan and Ricky Carroll and wife Lisa of Henderson; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Billy Wayne Horton and wife Gloria of Fort Washington, MD and a sister, Geneva Evans of Florence, AL and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Lurlene Hysmith of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Carroll in 2009 and a brother, Edwin Horton, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lois and Kathryn Carroll and brother-in-law Bill Evans.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Clarks Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cecil Woodruff, Elder Steve Leggett and Bro. Jimmy Horton officiating and burial will follow in Clarks Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel beginning at 4:00 PM on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 am until funeral time at the church.
