Farris D. Williams was born September 21, 1934 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Earnest Scott and Freddie Jane Tucker Williams. He was united in marriage to Geraldine (Gerry) Sartin on February 27, 1956. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Williams departed this life on May 17, 2006. Mr. Williams was a retired vocational-technical teacher, and was a member of the Bethel Springs Church of God of Prophecy, where he served as a deacon, song leader, Sunday School teacher and was active in a nursing home ministry. He was also a former member of the Gideons.Mr. Williams departed this life on May 15, 2006 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 71 Years, 7 Months, 24 Days. He is survived by a son, Charles Williams and wife Rose of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; a brother, Herman S. Williams and wife Marie of Nashville, Tennessee; three sisters: Eunice Bell and husband Lloyd of Selmer, Tennessee, Naomi Flint of El Dorado, Kansas and Mazie L. Duncan and husband John of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; three granddaughters: Jovan Williams, Charlie Williams and Madison Williams; and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was also preceded in death by a brother, Pierce Williams.
