Mrs. Fannie Russ Dixon of Collinwood, TN departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2013 at her residence at the age of 94 Years, 5 Months, 17 Days. She was born November 2, 1918 in Lawrence County, TN, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marget Nelson Russ.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Pope; sisters, Myrtle McDonald, Madgie Daniels, Lizzie Teat, and Annie Moore; and a brother, Raymond Russ.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Warden Dixon on December 28, 1938 and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1995.
Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by, son, Michael Warden Dixon and wife, Nell of Florence, AL; daughter, Minta Faye Cantrell and husband, Fred of Nashville, TN, adopted family member, Carolyn Kephart Holt; grandchildren, Brandon Dixon and wife, Rachel, Jennifer Hutton and husband, Will.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with William Beal and William Moede officiating. Burial will follow in the Shawnettee Memory Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be James Lee Dixon, Butch Kephart, Brandon Dixon, Will Hutton, Brian Brison, and Lenuel Tate.
