Everette Loyal Holt

Everette Loyal Holt age 88 passed away on March 6, 2025. He was born in Lutts, TN on October 19, 1936 to Joseph and Sarah Hanback Holt. Everette was the youngest of 10 children, raised on a farm, worked a garden, cut timber, and raised hogs and other livestock. In 1956, Everette moved to South Bend, IN to find better work. In November 1956, he met the love of his life, Betty Handley and they got married on November 28, 1957. Everette worked hard his whole life in order to provide a better life for his family than he had growing up during the Depression.

Everette is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Mae Holt of Florence, AL; children, Ron Holt of Iron City, TN, Sandy (Charlie) Holt of Hampton, GA, and Kenny Holt of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Brandon Holt, Trey Holt, and Lucas Bergman, Garrett (Maigan) Holt, Taylor (Shelby) Holt, Keaton (Casey) Holt, Kristian (Callie) Holt, Chet Holt, and Peyton Holt; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Holt, Jameson Holt, Reagan Holt, Chuck Dukes, Liberty Holt, Julissa Holt, Solomon Holt, Lillie Holt, Charli Faye Holt, Mabel Holt, Caleb Holt, and Harper Holt; sisters, Lorene Holt Morris, and Violet Holt Eaton.

Everette is preceded in death by siblings, Mabel Holt Reaves, Ellis Holt, Myrtle Holt Franks, Annie Holt Wallace, Betty Holt Frazier, Eudean Holt Brison, and Richard Holt; and grandson, Collin Holt.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Stults, Chuck Holt, and Bruce Koontz officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

Pallbearers will be Garrett Holt, Taylor Holt, Keaton Holt, Kristian Holt, Brandon Holt, and Josh Holt.
