Henderson: Evelyn Jean Terry Hurst, age 80, died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Henderson Health Care.
She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Grady Earl and Hessie Mae Niesler Terry. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1956 and began working at City Drug Store that same year. She married Jerome Hurst in 1961. Mrs. Hurst worked as a pharmacy technician at City Drug from 1956 to 2013. She loved shopping for her grandchildren, spending time with family, and enjoyed reading. She attended First Baptist Church in Henderson.
She is survived by her husband Jerome Payne Hurst, two daughters; Sheila Cloud and husband Jerry, Tina Graves and husband Brad, and a son Jeremy Hurst and wife Miranda all of Henderson. She is also survived by six grandchildren; Adam Cloud (Hayley), Cody Cloud, Heath Graves, Madison Balding (Kyle), Mia Hurst, and Colton Hurst and three great grandchildren Karver Balding, Sadie Cloud and Caroline Cloud. She is also survived by four brothers; Larry Terry of Alabama, Charles Terry of Henderson, Nickie Terry of Goodlettsville, and Kenny Terry of Henderson and three sisters Wanda Mae Stanfill of Goodlettsville, Joyce Jones of Memphis and Janice Cooper of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Mallerie Graves and a brother Danny Terry.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Glenn Harris and Charles McNatt officiating.
The family will received friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 PM Thursday.
The family request memorial be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
