Eugene Young, 79, of Toone, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widower of Cathy Ann Young, who died August 4, 1997, he retired from the City of Bolivar Street Department in 1991. Mr. Young was born June 25, 1926 in Hardeman County, son of the late John Henry Young and Lizzie Louise Kirby Young and lived in Hardeman County all of his life. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Services were 3:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with Fred Clifft officiating. Burial was in Cearley Cemetery near Toone.
Survivors include four daughters, Pat Gablosky of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Charlotte Emerson of Daytona Beach, FL, Marilyn Muller of Hammond, IN and Debbie Nelson of Toone; two sons, Donald Young of Bolivar and Ronald Young of Adamsville; two sisters, Sue Glenn of Toone and Louise Marsh of Gary, IN; 19 grandchildren and numerous great granchildren.
