Eugene Powell
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on April 28, 1920 the son of the late Hubert Esbert and Eula Nancy Willis Powell.
On November 7, 1942 he was united in marriage to the former Lorene Meek, who survives.
He worked at Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Sinner’s Hope Church.
Mr. Powell was known as a dedicated husband and father. He took great pride in his garden and he loved the Lord.
He departed this life on August 29, 2006 at Decatur County General Hospital in Parsons, Tennessee at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 1 day.
Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Lorene Powell of Sardis, Tennessee;
2 daughters: Linda Barstow of Bellville, Michigan and Patsy Campbell of Parsons, Tennessee; one son, Larry Powell of Sardis, Tennessee;
3 grandchildren: Anjela Johnson, Michael Barstow and Jimmy Powell;
2 great-grandchildren: Hunter Powell and Lorena Scott;
and two sisters: Irene Mitchell of Memphis, Tennessee and Rebecca Hanna of Saltillo, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Shirley and 2 brothers: Tommy Lee Powell and Robert Neal Powell.
